Bermi's QuestBermi's Quest

Draft for the invite-only alpha. This notice is pending privacy/legal review and will be finalized before general availability.

Privacy Notice

Applies to the Bermi's Quest web and iOS alpha.

Who this is for

Bermi's Quest is used by families. A parent creates the family and each child's account. Children sign in with a username and passphrase and do not need an email address.

What we collect

Who can see a child's information

How we use information

To operate the app, keep it secure, support your family, and improve the experience. We do not sell personal information, and the alpha does not use AI features or serve advertising.

Journal media is processed only to verify its file type, size, and duration and to remove embedded metadata. We do not use journal media for advertising, analytics, AI analysis, or content moderation.

Payment providers

Stripe processes web subscription payments and Apple processes App Store subscriptions. They receive the account and transaction data needed to complete, renew, cancel, or refund a purchase under their own privacy terms. Bermi's Quest stores provider transaction identifiers and subscription status to prevent duplicate memberships and keep family access current. We do not send journal text, mood values, child media, or quest content to either payment provider.

Shared-device child mode

A parent can temporarily switch the iOS app to the profile of a child under 13 in the same family. The child session lasts up to two hours. Returning to parent controls requires the device owner's Face ID, Touch ID, or passcode. We retain administrative records that a switch started, ended, or was revoked, but those records do not contain the child's date of birth, journal text, mood value, or session token.

Retention and deletion

We keep family data for the duration of the pilot and delete inactive tester data afterward according to our retention policy. A parent can request an export or deletion at any time from Settings; we aim to complete deletions within 30 days, after which copies age out of routine backups.

Your choices

Parents can create, reset, disable, and remove child accounts, and can request a data export or deletion in Settings or by contacting us.
